On Wednesday the 6th and Thursday the 7th of September, a delegation, consisting of various directors of ministries, attended information sessions on the REDD + program. The information sessions were held in the Upper-Suriname region, in particular the villages of Pikinslee and New Aurora.
The delegation consisted of:The director van Trade, Industry and Tourism, Mw. Reina Raveles; the Acting director of the Vice-President, Mw. Tania Muskiet, the director of Natural Resources , dhr. Dave Abeleven; the Director of Culture, Mw. Elviera Sandi; the acting director of Foreign Affairs, dhr. Michiel Raafenberg and the director of Stichting Toerisme Suriname, dhr. Jerry A-Kum.
During this visit, the delegation was informed about the REDD+ Program. Both the delegation and the National Institute for Environment and Development in Suriname (NIMOS) look back to at successful information session.
