National Workshop on the Development of a National REDD + Vision and Strategy

On the 4th and 5th of May 2017, the National Institute for Environment and Development in Suriname (NIMOS) organized a 2-day session in Hotel Torarica's Banquet Hall.
The workshop sessions were intended for all stakeholders in the field of environment or forest management with the aim of providing input for development of a national REDD + vision and strategy.
Introductory presentations were held in the workshops, where participants received information about REDD +, the purpose of the workshop and the input which was expected of the participants.
On both the first and second day, the participants are divided into eight working groups. Various questions and arguments were presented to these working groups as discussion points.
The organization of the workshop assigned a chairman to each working group who was responsible for facilitating the discussions and a secretary responsible for making up a short report of the discussion. Click here for the report
